Product Review Lexol Leather Cleaner

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

During September 2008 we reviewed the Lexol Leather Cleaner.

This product was purchased at retail for approximately seven dollars.

Lexol’s technical strategy is excellent and should result in a product that cleans fine leather surfaces.

This product could be used for boots, clothing, hats, furniture and automobile interiors.

Nice feel and capable of cleaning and maintaining that expensive leather surface.

Suggested uses are the automotive environment where the leather is constantly subjected to food spills and road dirt.

This leather cleaner is not intended for urine removal.

We do not recommend the Lexol Leather Cleaner for any leather that may be exposed to cat or dog urine.

Product Review Obenauf’s Leather Oil

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

During September 2008 we purchased the Obenauf’s Leather Oil at retail for about thirteen dollars.

The primary ingredients are natural preserving oils, beeswax and propolis.

Propolis courtesy of Wikipedia is a resinous mixture that bees collect from tree buds, sap flows, or other botanical sources. It is used as a sealant for unwanted open spaces in the hive. Propolis is used for small gaps (approximately 6.35 millimeters (0.3 in) or less), while larger spaces are usually filled with beeswax.

In layman’s terms the primary ingredients are natural preserving oils, beeswax and sealant.

We applied two coats per the label instructions and tested for water repellency. This product is excellent with water beading up and away almost immediately. With monthly applications the end user would effectively waterproof their clothing and shoes.

This product would be particularly effective for sportsmen and hunters who have a strong need to waterproof their outdoor apparel including their boots.

          What about other household uses?

We applied the product to a new leather sofa. We exposed the leather furniture to our cat and as expected the cat urinated on it.

After repeated attempts we were unsuccessful removing the urine.

Excellent waterproofing characteristics are what make this product so attractive to sportsman.

Waterproofing is why this product is not recommended if you have cats or dogs. The pets will eventually get around to urinating on that exxpensive leather furniture and the urine will be sealed in by the waterproofing.

The Obenauf’s leather oil earned a buy recommendation.

Product Review Urine Off Odor Stain Remover

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

During April 2008 we purchased this product at retail. When we were researching Urine Off we found no fewer then thirty entries or three entire pages on Google.

We purchased a bottle of the Urine-Off Odor and Stain Remover. This product is manufactured by Bio-Pro Research, LLC 1701 Biotech Way Sarasota Florida 34243.

We selected the product that was Specifically Formulated for Cat & Kitten Urine Veterinarian Strength.

We paid twenty three dollars for a sixteen ounce spray bottle.

The veterinarian was unwilling to offer a warranty on this product.

We used cat urine from a twenty pound tom that loves to spray. We allowed the cat urine to dry and set up for at least forty eight hours before we began the testing.

     Some tests required repeated applications.

Frankly we were disappointed with the results considering the prolific advertising for this product.

The bottom line is this product scored a five on a scale of ten for effectiveness.

Product Review Odorzout

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

During May 2006 we researched dry cleaning products for those individuals that prefer this cleaning method.

Our search led us to Odorzout.

The Odorzout main ordering page utilizes 128 bit encryption and it’s security certificate appears current.

If you prefer the dry method take a look at this web site.

This product is good, not as potent nor as effective as the Proklean liquids but a reasonable alternative if you prefer powders.

We suggest you review “Powders or Liquids?” before making a purchasing decision.

Product Review Proklean Super Cat Urine Remover (+) | Permanent Stain & Odor

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

The Internet is a flood of cleaning products, some good some bad and many offered by scammers eager to get your money. What’s the truth? Our search was for a true top rated cat urine remover.

This product was purchased from the Genuine Proklean store.

We paid less than twenty seven dollars for the sixteen ounce spray bottle.

We reviewed the Proklean super cat urine product for efficacy, ease of use, consistency of results and overall retail experience. This product was tested on carpeting and upholstery. We took care to ensure the super cat urine remover was properly warmed up and that it was shaken vigorously before starting each test.

For our first test we made a one square yard test bed of white carpeting and padding so we could observe the cat urine from the side. We applied six ounces of the cat urine and allowed the urine to age for twenty one days.

We sprayed six ounces of the Proklean super cat urine remover directly on the cat urine and observed. You could see from the side view the Proklean product was penetrating into the padding. After about five minutes the yellow urine stain was beginning to disappear. At approximately fifteen minutes the yellow cat urine stain was gone.

Our second test involved an old cream colored couch with no previous urine history. We sprayed six ounces of cat urine on the sofa and allowed the urine to age for fourteen days.

We sprayed the Proklean super cat urine remover directly on the stain and waited. Our results were similar to our carpeting test. At approximately five minutes the yellow cat urine stain showed significant improvement. At fifteen minutes the yellow urine stain was gone. There was no detectable cat urine odor.

We found the Proklean super cat urine remover very easy to use. It does not get any easier as their engineering team has placed all of the product instructions online.

Online instructions are ideal since the customer cannot lose or otherwise misplace their instructions. It also gives the prospective customer the opportunity to review the instructions before making the purchase.

The customers are always assured of having the most current product instructions.

After several tests the Proklean super cat urine remover consistently received high marks for effectiveness.

The truth is cleaning cat urine does not get any easier. We see no integrity issues with the Proklean Super Cat Urine Remover. Our testing confirmed the numerous testimonials posted on the genuine Proklean website.

We have concluded that the Proklean super cat urine remover definitely qualifies as a true professional quality product.

Here is a simple test. This test works best when the soiled area is not contaminated with other cleaning products and home remedies. You will need a clean white terry cloth towel. Make sure it is clean otherwise you risk contaminating the area. It should be slightly moistened. Spray the super cat urine remover directly on the cat urine. Wait a couple of minutes and then press and hold the terry cloth on the stain for about two minutes. Slowly pull the terry cloth off the stain and you will see that the yellow cat urine stain has actually transferred to the clean towel.

This concludes our critical review of the Proklean super cat urine remover. If you are dealing with cat urine issues the super cat urine remover should be at the top of your list.

We don’t know if this product is revolutionary as Proklean will not disclose the technology involved. However this cat urine removal product is easily the most effective.

The Proklean super cat urine remover is definately tier one and top rated. This product earned a strong buy recommendation.
